Firefighters and security forces are responding to a fire in the parking lot of the Avenida de Canarias shopping center in Vecindario.

 

A vehicle parked on level three of the parking lot at the Avenida de Canarias shopping center in Vecindario caught fire at around 3:20 p.m. this Tuesday, prompting rapid response from firefighters from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium. The fire engulfed the interior of the garage, causing alarm among nearby employees and customers.

 

 

During the operation, emergency teams evacuated a homeless person who had been spending the night inside a car trailer parked on the same floor. Thanks to the rapid response, no injuries were reported, although the firefighting effort took several minutes to extinguish the flames and ensure the safety of the building.

 

 

Firefighters from the Arinaga and Telde fire stations participated in the operation, along with officers from the Civil Guard and the Santa Lucía de Tirajana Local Police, who secured the area and assisted in the coordination efforts. The incident, which generated great attention, is under investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
