The SPAR Gran Canaria supermarket chain has organized the first meeting of SPAR Gran Canaria Youth Talent Scholarship recipients, bringing together for the first time the young people recognized in the various editions of the program that promotes youth talent on the island.
Under the title "Learning from Uncertainty," this event fostered a space for personal growth, where participants shared their experiences and lessons learned with the goal of mutually enriching themselves. The program combined experiential training, collective reflection, and practical tools to face the challenges of their professional and personal futures, with the goal of becoming role models for other young people.
Yubi Cisneros, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Communications, emphasized during the meeting that, "With the Youth Talent Scholarship, we want to support our young people not only in their professional careers but also in their personal development. This meeting demonstrates our commitment to future generations, offering them tools and experiences that will help them grow and confidently face future decisions."
The event featured Juan Ferrer, an expert in change management and collective leadership. He trained at world-renowned institutions such as the Harvard Kennedy School, MIT, and IESE, and collaborates with renowned companies such as Banco Santander, IKEA, Decathlon, and Enagás, among others. He joined the young scholarship recipients in activities designed to strengthen their confidence, adaptability, and vision for the future.
One of the most significant moments of the day was the Lego Serious Play workshop, an innovative experience that allowed the fellows, through 3D construction, to visualize and address organizational and personal challenges, explore team identities, manage emotions, and design improvement strategies.
Finally, an experiment with horses was conducted in Arucas, focusing on team development and leadership. The animals' emotional sensitivity was used to detect hidden dynamics, identify limiting beliefs, and foster authentic leadership through nonverbal language.

The goal, in Juan Ferrer's words, is "to look inward, at what truly moves, blocks, or motivates them, in order to unleash and focus on the full potential and passion of each of them. Emotional management is key to leveraging talent."
This year, the event focused on highlighting and strengthening the recognition of scholarship recipients from previous editions, rather than awarding a new scholarship. With this initiative, SPAR Gran Canaria seeks to promote learning, showcase youth talent, and highlight the efforts and achievements of these promising young people. This is an inspiring initiative that empowers the youth community and celebrates the commitment and excellence of those who have already participated in this program. With this event, SPAR Gran Canaria reinforces its firm commitment to youth talent and the social development of the island, creating spaces for learning and inspiration that transcend academics and become an example for future generations.
SPAR Gran Canaria Youth Talent Scholarship
The SPAR Gran Canaria Youth Talent Scholarship annually recognizes promising young cultural and sporting talents on the island, supporting their training and participation in national and international competitions.
