Alejandro Marichal: "We are taking a key step toward ensuring energy efficiency and accessibility in our homes."
Lucía Jiménez: "This contract represents a decisive step forward in improving the quality of life for Montaña Clara residents."
This Wednesday, August 27, the Department of Housing published the tender notice on the Public Sector Procurement Platform for the renovation of the Montaña Clara residential development, located in San Fernando de Maspalomas. The total amount is €1.522.366,97, excluding taxes, and interested companies may submit their bids until September 11.
The project, part of the Neighborhood Rehabilitation Action Assistance Program (ERRP) of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, involves the comprehensive renovation of 32 homes distributed across three buildings, corresponding to lots 7, 8, and 10 of the development. The project also includes urbanization and redevelopment of the surrounding public spaces, with the aim of providing the neighborhood with improved infrastructure and services adapted to current needs.
The project aims to improve the buildings' energy efficiency, complying with European sustainability regulations. Planned actions include improving the thermal envelope and façade carpentry, installing photovoltaic panels, and performing civil works to ensure universal accessibility in common areas, including the construction of elevator shafts and accessible routes.
The need to undertake this renovation arises from the current situation of the buildings, which lack energy efficiency, accessibility, and adaptation to new regulatory requirements. These deficiencies not only increase the maintenance and consumption costs of homes, but also limit the quality of life of residents. This intervention aims to address these needs, guaranteeing more sustainable, accessible, and safe homes, while ensuring that the development can confidently meet the future challenges imposed by European legislation on housing and sustainability.
Alejandro Marichal, First Deputy Mayor, highlighted the importance of this tender, noting that "we are taking a key step toward ensuring energy efficiency and affordability in our homes, anticipating the challenges that will shape the future of the housing market." For her part, Councilor for Housing Lucía Jiménez emphasized that "this contract represents a decisive step forward in improving the quality of life for the residents of Montaña Clara, while strengthening our commitment to the sustainability and modernization of the municipality."
The estimated completion date for the works is nine months from the date the staking out verification report is signed. All work must be completed by June 30, 2026. With this tender, the Department of Housing is advancing its strategy to rehabilitate and improve residential environments, strengthening the municipality's preparedness to face current and future challenges in housing and sustainability.
