The rapid response of the Vecindario Civil Guard thwarted the criminal's plans and prevented a series of robberies in the area.

The Civil Guard at the Vecindario Main Post has arrested an individual in flagrante delicto for a vehicle theft in Santa Lucía de Tirajana, thwarting what could have been a series of robberies.

The swift action of a Civil Guard patrol, following a citizen's alert, allowed the thief to be caught red-handed and the stolen items recovered.

The incident occurred in the early hours of August 15th, around 05:30 a.m., when a local resident noticed a man driving a vehicle in a suspicious manner. Rather than remain indifferent, the citizen decided to immediately notify the Civil Guard, providing them with a precise description of the situation.

Thanks to the rapid communication, a patrol car was dispatched to the scene within minutes. Upon arrival, officers interviewed the witness, who pointed out the suspect, who was crouching inside another vehicle. Officers also located a work bag containing tools that the offender had hidden on a nearby ramp, commonly used to pick locks and carry out vehicle thefts. The individual was arrested on-site and taken to police headquarters, thus thwarting his plans to continue further thefts in the area.

This successful intervention underscores the importance of citizen collaboration. Alerts from neighbors are often key to preventing and solving crimes. Acting quickly and notifying authorities when you observe something unusual is essential to ensuring safety and curbing criminal activity.

The case of Santa Lucía de Tirajana is a clear example of how the union between citizens and security forces can make a difference and protect everyone's heritage.

The proceedings and the detainee have been handed over to the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Duty Court.
