Alejandro Marichal: "With this call, we reinforce our commitment to citizens and to the associations that actively work to transform life in our neighborhoods."

Ruyman Cardoso: "Neighborhood associations are essential for revitalizing the municipality and ensuring active participation of residents."

The Department of Citizen Participation of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has launched a competitive call for grants, published on August 22, 2025, in the Official Gazette of the Province. The application period will remain open until September 11. These grants are aimed at neighborhood associations, federations, and confederations in the municipality that promote the associative movement and civic coexistence.

The call for proposals has a total amount of 50.000 euros, intended to fund projects, activities, or initiatives that contribute to improving the quality of life, strengthening community life, and energizing the associative fabric in the municipality's various neighborhoods.

Eligible projects range from training activities, courses, seminars, and conferences that promote civic coexistence, to joint projects between neighborhood associations or federations that generate clear benefits for their area of operation. Cultural, scientific, and creative initiatives that involve community participation are also considered.

Likewise, the grants may be used to cover operating and maintenance costs for the company's headquarters, including rent, loan repayments, electricity bills, cleaning, or any other fixed costs necessary to ensure the entities' operations.

In the words of First Deputy Mayor Alejandro Marichal and Councilor for Citizen Participation Ruymán Cardoso, this call is another step in the commitment made to the municipality's neighborhood community: "With these grants, we strengthen our support for associations and groups that play an essential role in community life. Neighborhood associations are a driving force for revitalization, spaces for meeting and participation, and a fundamental part of the social transformation we want for San Bartolomé de Tirajana."

The importance of this initiative lies in its ability to respond to neighborhood needs and promote projects that strengthen coexistence, personal and collective development, and the rooting of democratic and community values. This support helps associations continue to fulfill their role as spaces for neighborhood cohesion and representation.

The Department of Citizen Participation thus maintains a line of work that continues its commitment to citizen organizations, consolidating a management model that puts the voice of residents at the center.
