Intercepted at access control with cocaine, heroin and hashish hidden in underwear

One of the detainees had already been arrested in 2022 for similar acts.

The seized drugs have an estimated value of 8.228 euros on the prison market.

National Police officers assigned to the Local Judicial Police Brigade of the Telde Local Police Station have arrested two women in San Bartolomé de Tirajana as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health, after being caught trying to smuggle narcotics into the Las Palmas II Penitentiary Center.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of September 1, 2025, when officers, in coordination with the center's security personnel, intercepted both women during access control. The suspects were on their way to an intimate encounter and a family visit with two inmates, respectively.

In a restricted area, the women voluntarily handed over several packages hidden in their underwear. A total of approximately 15 grams of cocaine, 9 grams of heroin, and 8 grams of hashish were seized, along with two cell phones.

The street value of the drugs has been estimated at €1.371, a figure that could multiply to €8.228 inside a prison due to the varying supply and demand.

The two detainees were brought before the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Court of Instruction.
