A fire that broke out early Friday morning on Américo Vespucio Street, Castillo del Romeral, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, left a 16-year-old minor seriously injured with burns and smoke inhalation poisoning.
A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured in the early hours of Friday, September 26, 2025, after a fire broke out in a home located on Américo Vespucio Street, in the Gran Canaria municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The fire started around 00:23 a.m. and generated a thick column of smoke that affected the interior of the building.
The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated the victim, who suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation poisoning. After being stabilized at the scene, the minor was transported by medical ambulance to the Gran Canaria University Hospital for specialized care.
The operation involved a medical ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from the SUC (Uninstitutional Unit of the University of San Bartolomé de Tirajana), personnel from the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire and Rescue Service, the National Police, the Local Police, and Civil Protection. Firefighters extinguished the flames and ventilated the home, while National Police officers conducted the necessary investigations, and the Local Police and Civil Protection assisted with support and security duties.
