The National Police celebrated the central event of Corps Day this Friday in Maspalomas, an event that distinguished 110 officers and paid tribute to those who died in the line of duty.
The National Police held the central event for Police Day this Friday in Maspalomas, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, presided over by the Government Delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana, and the Chief of Police of the Canary Islands, Jesús María Gómez. The ceremony was attended by regional, island, and municipal authorities, including the President of the Canary Islands Parliament and the Mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
The event paid tribute to officers who died in the line of duty and included the awarding of 110 police merit decorations, as well as recognition to 18 individuals outside the National Police and 13 collaborators who have contributed to police work in the archipelago.
As part of the commemorative activities, a police equipment exhibition was held on September 23rd in Juan Pablo II Park in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where more than 850 schoolchildren participated in an informational event about the work of the National Police.
