The Acosta Matos investment group has appointed Meeting Point Hotels as the operator of Hotel Marieta, a four-star hotel with 200 rooms located in Playa del Inglés, in the south of Gran Canaria. The transaction will have the strategic backing of Bluesea Hotels, which will strengthen the asset's visibility in European source markets and its financial position within the group.
The decision is part of Acosta Matos' strategy to consolidate its role as a leading developer in the Canary Islands, supporting the renovation of its hotel facilities and the professionalization of hotel management. In addition, Meeting Point Hotels will add the Bex apartments in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to its portfolio, expanding its presence in the island's capital.
Sebastiá Catalá, CEO of Bluesea Hotels, stated this Monday: "We are pleased to strengthen our presence in Gran Canaria by supporting the management of Hotel Marieta. Our experience in hotel marketing and distribution will add value to the operation."
According to company sources, Meeting Point is in the process of renewing 95% of its hotel contracts, reflecting an effort to strengthen the stability of its activities. This move is part of a broader strategy that includes the incorporation of the Bex apartments in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, thus consolidating Acosta Matos' position as a leading investment and development group in the Canary Islands.
The collaboration between Acosta Matos, Meeting Point Hotels, and Bluesea Hotels reflects a shared commitment to the modernization of the islands' tourism sector and the continuous improvement of the hotel industry in Gran Canaria. Acosta Matos and strategic partners are working together in a context of growing competition for independent hotel management in established destinations. The Marieta-Meeting Point-Blue Sea alliance reflects the growing trend in the Canary Islands to separate hotel ownership and management, with local funds and investors retaining real estate capital and international and regional operators optimizing commercial operations.
