The San Bartolomé de Tirajana Cleaning Department has begun installing new containers for packaging and plastics in San Fernando de Maspalomas. The work began on streets such as Lanzarote and Secundino Delgado, where the old containers have been removed and replaced with more modern and efficient models.
During the first day, 12 containers were installed, notable for their increased capacity and the addition of fill sensors, a technology that will optimize collection routes and improve service.
In the coming days, the figure of 48 containers is expected to be replaced. The renovation plan includes the installation of 560 new containers for packaging, cardboard, and paper before the end of the year, which will represent a complete modernization of the municipality's recycling system.
