José Manuel Martín-Sonia Alonso's team wins in RS, achieving another double.

This Saturday, the Maspalomas Team organized the final two climbs of the Las Palmas Mountain Championship, with the double event of the Fataga and San Bartolomé climbs in the Tirajana municipality. The team repeated the podium finishes in both touring and small cars after an intense day marked by good weather and some heat, which concluded with the trophy presentation at the Pancho Guerra cultural center in Tunte.

Iván Armas had no rivals at the level of his Porsche 911 and still set two good times, with 2:47,9 in San Bartolomé and 3:07,2 on the most twisty Fataga ramp, which makes him the virtual mountain champion of Las Palmas 2025, pending the High Mountain event.

Not only did Iván Armas repeat on the podium, but so did the drivers who occupied the top spots in the Touring Car standings, with Noé Armas in second place (Renault Clio Rally4) and Alexis Santana (Renault 5 Gt Turbo) in third. Already in fourth place, Juan Betancort in the Toyota Corolla took over, with Francisco Martín (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo) and Jonai Rodríguez (Peugeot 106) in second place.

Betancort, on the other hand, could only manage fifth overall in Fataga, as in the morning test, Jonai Rodríguez from La Gomera, driving the competitive Peugeot 106, moved up to fourth, while Martín finished sixth in the touring car category. In the top spots on both climbs, the differences in time recorded didn't create any kind of fight, with the excitement shifting more from fourth place onwards.

Jonai Rodríguez would be the dominator of the HPF 160 Cup on the two Tirajanera ramps, while the winner in the HPF 220 would be Juanillo Betancort.

In Category 2 of the CM, Gran Canarian René Santana (Silver Car) took both victories, with a time of 2:46,4 in San Bartolomé and 3:00,9 in Fataga, the best times of the day that give him a large handful of points for the Las Palmas mountain competition. David Bethencourt (Speed Car) finished in second place on both slopes, continuing his positive progression on each climb. Third in Fataga was La Gomera native Carlos Ramos (BRC), who did not participate in the afternoon climb and did not perform as expected from the already virtual regional champion in the category. This circumstance affected several participants due to breakdowns suffered on the first climb, which prevented them from continuing on the San Bartolomé slope.

In the regularity section of the Car Home Services Trophy, the winners in the Sport (medium-high) category were the José Manuel Martín-Sonia Alonso team with the BMW 635, who in the process strengthened their lead in the provincial championship, as they won the two Tunte events and are now virtual champions.

Pedro Díaz and Roberto Mendoza in the Mini Cooper also won both intermediate regularity events, giving them a solid lead in the championship. Daniela and Alexis Acosta (Toyota Corolla) also performed well in San Bartolomé, finishing second after overcoming some difficulties in Fataga. Finally, José and Jonay Rodríguez in another Corolla took victory in the 50th Trophy.
