Maspalomas will become the epicenter of Italian gastronomy by the end of 2025. On November 25 and 26, 2025, the south of Gran Canaria will host the First European Pizza Championship of the Canary Islands 2025, an event organized by Apoza that seeks to bring together the best pizza makers, suppliers, and professionals from the hospitality sector in a unique showcase on the islands.
The competition promises to be a high-level event, with master pizza makers from all over Europe showcasing their talent before a prestigious and impartial international jury. The essence of the competition lies in the diversity of the competitions, which will be held in three main categories: Neapolitan: Focusing on the tradition and purity of classic Neapolitan pizza; Contemporary: A category that rewards innovation and experimentation in techniques and flavors; and Classic, dedicated to maintaining the essence of traditional pizza.
In addition to the prizes for each category, the jury will select the Super Champion, the pizza maker who obtains the highest overall score across all three categories, a recognition of the most complete and versatile talent in the competition.
The event, run by APOZA—an import and distribution company for Italian products with a branch in Las Palmas through its subsidiary Keysa Importaciones—will not simply be a competition. During the two professional days, Maspalomas will become a meeting point for the sector. Attendees will enjoy live demonstrations of production techniques, tastings of high-quality Italian products, and an exclusive networking space where leading suppliers will present their latest gourmet wines and catering equipment to a growing professional sector. Candidates interested in participating in this celebration of Italian tradition and Canarian passion can now confirm their registration to compete for the title of European Pizza Super Champion.
