The average gross income in the tourist town stands at €28.305, while the total number of businesses has surpassed the threshold of 5.700 units. According to the latest data from the Tax Agency, the average gross income has climbed to €28.305, representing an increase of nearly 35% since 2013, when it stood at around €21.000.
This growth trajectory reflects the economic strength linked to the municipality's tourism and services sectors and underscores an increase in the purchasing power of its residents. The figure of €28.305 consolidates San Bartolomé de Tirajana as a hub of prosperity on the island. This economic dynamism is supported by a robust business network. The number of businesses in the municipality, according to data from the INE (National Institute of Statistics and Census), has shown notable recovery and growth: Sustained Growth. Since 2012, when the number of businesses was around 4.800, the figure has grown steadily, reaching almost 5.600.
Although a slight decline was observed in 2020 (coinciding with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic), subsequent years have seen a strong recovery, reaching a new peak. The latest available figure places the total number of businesses in the range of 5.700 to 5.800 units, indicating a broad and resilient productive sector that supports the municipality's high income. The combination of a high per capita income and a large and growing number of businesses places San Bartolomé de Tirajana as a key economic driver in Gran Canaria.
