Under the theme "Gastronomy with Soul: People Who Build the Destination," this edition renews its offering by focusing on the human value that kitchen and dining room staff contribute to tourism development. Chefs, waiters, managers, and hospitality professionals will be the protagonists of a forum that highlights the importance of their friendly approach, their human quality, and their accumulated experience, traits that have made each visit a unique experience. The event will once again place Gran Canaria at the center of international tourism debate, consolidating its position as a leading platform for analysis, reflection, and innovation in the sector.
Tourism Councilor Yilenia Vega emphasized the importance of the event, stating, "This forum allows us to pay tribute to the people who, with their professionalism and dedication, make Maspalomas Costa Canaria a leading international destination. This year's edition highlights that, behind every tourist attraction, there are people who work with heart and soul and make a difference in the experience of those who visit us."
After twelve editions, the Forum has established itself as one of the most important events on the Canary Islands tourism calendar, bringing together national and international experts, industry professionals, and institutional representatives each year to address the industry's main challenges and opportunities.
For his part, the First Deputy Mayor, Alejandro Marichal, emphasized that the International Tourism Forum is an opportunity to strengthen San Bartolomé de Tirajana's leadership on the international tourism agenda. "We are committed to a model that combines excellence in infrastructure with a clear vision for the future, positioning Maspalomas not only as a holiday destination but also as a benchmark in the organization of professional meetings and the generation of tourism knowledge."
Marichal also highlighted the historical role of tourism staff, stating that "since the 60s, our municipality has built its success on the foundation of friendly, professional, and caring service provided by thousands of workers in the sector. Their decades of experience are one of the greatest assets that distinguishes our offering, and we should not only be grateful for this, but also support events that enrich the training of this valuable team."
The program for the 12th Maspalomas Costa Canaria International Tourism Forum will combine educational and experiential activities, bringing the theme of "gastronomy with soul" closer to both professionals and the general public. Highlights include expert presentations and, for the first time, a show cooking event open to the public featuring leading figures from national gastronomy.
Registration to participate in the conference is now available through the official portal. maspalomasforoturismo.com. The event is open to professionals, students, and the public interested in learning about the main challenges and trends in the food and beverage industry.
