The Civil Guard has arrested a 36-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of a violent robbery against a taxi driver in Vecindario , located in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana.
The attack, which took place on the night of September 30 , occurred while the victim was working as a taxi driver . Around 23:00 p.m. , a passenger requested a ride to a street in Vecindario. Upon arriving at the destination, the individual lunged at the driver with the intention of snatching her purse . During the struggle, the victim 's glasses were broken , and the assailant ultimately managed to steal her purse before fleeing the scene.
The taxi driver tried to chase the robber, but because she was in a deserted area and couldn't immediately call for help, she was unable to catch him. However, thanks to footage from the security cameras installed in the vehicle , the Civil Guard officers were able to confirm the assault and identify the perpetrator.
Based on this information, the Civil Guard located and arrested the suspect, who was brought before the Court of Instruction number 2 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana along with the proceedings carried out.
