La Urban Planning Department of San Bartolomé de Tirajana has taken a fundamental step in the preservation of historical heritage of the municipality with the signature of a urban development agreement which allows the incorporation into the municipal heritage of the emblematic House of Mato and the surrounding land, located in the heart of The BoardThis operation culminates a process pending for more than thirty years and consolidates the public ownership of a property that represents part of the living history of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

 

Historical and social value of the Casa del Mato and the Casa del Estanque

However, the legal and registry complexity of the private plots had blocked the full incorporation of this space into the municipal public domain for three decades.

 

A key urban development agreement for El Tablero

 

In this context, the urban development agreement signed between San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council and the entity Caro Comprehensive Management SL represents a decisive step forward. Thanks to this agreement, the City Council incorporates more than Sqm 4.000 of public land, including the House of Mato, and unblocks the urban development process. The developer assumes the obligation to rehabilitate the Casa del Mato for its integration into the urban environment and to develop free-rent housing on the remaining land, thus contributing to the residential revitalization and the improvement of the urban landscape from The Tablero.

 

Free transfer and urban protection

 

This agreement allows the situation to be definitively unblocked by means of free transfer of three plots totaling more than 4.000 square meters, urbanistically protecting this strategic area. This includes a 2.998 m² road plot, a 492 m² green road protection zone, and a 602 m² public cultural use plot, which includes the House of Mato, with a constructed area of ​​53 m². According to the first deputy mayor, Alejandro Marichal (CC), Municipal ownership of the property and its surroundings is consolidated after thirty years of procedures, and the path is paved for its registration in the land registry and cadastre.
