Antonio Morales, president of the Gran Canaria Island Council, takes stock of the closing of this edition of Gran Canaria Swim Week: “This first edition marks a milestone for the catwalk, incorporating for the first time its own code of conduct based on the values that define our identity: sustainability, inclusion, and diversity. The entire event has revolved around these principles, consolidating the Island Council's commitment to a creative, responsible, and open society.”
The island president also emphasized that it was "the most international and commercial edition of all, with a significant presence of professional buyers and strategic alliances with leading institutions in the fashion world. Our emerging designers have proven themselves on par with major national and international brands, positioning Gran Canaria as a benchmark for talent, innovation, and international reach."
For her part, Minerva Alonso, Councilor for Economic Development of the Gran Canaria Island Council, emphasized that "Gran Canaria has established itself as the island specialized in swimwear and as the leading European platform in this field. Not only because our collections reflect the essence and identity of the Canary Islands, but also because we host top-level national and international brands specializing in this sector."
He also added that "the goal is to continue growing and establish ourselves not only as the leading swimwear catwalk in Europe, but also as a global benchmark. The collections presented here integrate our landscape, our culture, and our way of life. These days have been the perfect opportunity to showcase the talent of our companies to the world and, at the same time, generate business and economic development for the island."

Last days of fashion shows in which emerging Canarian talent shone
The fourth and final day of fashion shows at ExpoMeloneras began at 12:30 p.m. with presentations by Sirago, Patricia Caro, Mr & G Design, and Sandra Jaurrieta, showcasing the islands' emerging talent.
Sirago, founded by Gran Canaria-based designer Silvia Fernández, was born with the goal of experimenting with prints, fabrics, shapes, and materials, creating swimwear and ready-to-wear collections aimed primarily at women. Her latest collection, "Kalokairi Breeze," is an ode to the Greek summer, made entirely in Spain. The colors blue, white, fuchsia, and orange are prominent, fused into prints with flattering cuts and high-quality materials.
Next up, Patricia Caro, a Gran Canaria-based designer committed to social change and sustainable production, presented her Tropical Goth aesthetic, characterized by the use of textile scraps and an alternative, visually powerful attitude. Her collection, "Nice Blood," is inspired by the mysterious and sensual world of vampires, exploring how they would dress and what bikinis they would wear. To enrich this narrative, the designer created an exclusive print.
Later, MR & G DESIGN, a sustainable brand founded by Gran Canarian designer Moisés Rivero, distinguished itself with its use of eco-friendly fabrics and upcycling techniques. It presented "La Femme," a visual manifesto dedicated to the feminine soul. The collection, dominated by patchwork and the color violet, conveys calm and resilience, embroidering real bodies with sustainable fabrics.
This section was concluded by Sandra Jaurrieta, a Gran Canaria native who developed her passion for creativity during her childhood in Cuba, where her grandmother taught her to crochet. Two years ago, she discovered macramé, which completely transformed her professional approach. Based on sustainability and exclusivity, and having previously participated in Gran Canaria Swim Week, she presents "Puesta de Sol," a poetic transition from day to night. Divided into three sections: Golden Light, Fire, and Twilight, the collection offers an innovative sensorial experience.
At 16:00 p.m., Pomeline took to the runway. Led by its creative director, Ana María Rodríguez, the brand has designed for all ages since 1983, distinguishing itself from its competitors and appearing in media such as Vogue and dressing Queen Letizia. It presented "Efímero," a mixed-gender collection inspired by the sunsets of La Palma.
She was followed by Carlota Guillemet, founder of Mommy Loves, who imprints sensitivity and memory into each garment. From this, "Saudade" was born, a collection that pays homage to Portugal, its art, light, and memory. Inspired by traditional tiles, architecture, and historic landscapes, the designs reflect the sunsets of the Algarve and the green fields of the Douro, inviting introspection and appreciation of every detail.
At around 17:00 p.m., the French family-owned brand Banana Moon presented its collection, inspired by the intrepid American girl and ranch life. Under the creative direction of Justine Flachaire, the founder's daughter, the collection fuses Western style with beach glamour through fringes, faux suede trim, and embroidery that bring the cowboy vibe to the seaside.
Next up, the Gran Canaria-based brand Agüita Swimwear presented a collection that celebrates feminine power through the power of the ocean. Drawing on four archetypes, this oceanic narrative pays tribute to women as eternal daughters of the sea: strong, free, and luminous. The collection embodies Agüita's core values: local production in the Canary Islands, quality, and respect for the ocean.
At 18:00 p.m., the presentation of San Juan began. This is one of the founding brands of Gran Canaria Moda Cálida and the only one present at every edition. Its DNA is characterized by experimentation and volume. In this new edition, it presented a collection designed for sexy and sophisticated women, perfect for celebrating the female body, featuring volcano gray, jade green, iris blue, and Mexicali pink.
Entering at 19:00 PM, Miss Bikini, a Sardinian-born brand inspired by Brazilian culture, seeks to express femininity and freedom. With global exposure at events such as Milano Moda Donna, the brand innovates with pieces such as the jewel bikini, fusing craftsmanship and luxury. Its latest collection, "Boho Dream," combines a bohemian spirit and couture, featuring bikinis, kaftans, and versatile garments enriched with paisley prints, crochet, and eco-raffia accessories. It is aimed at the free woman who transitions from the beach to the city with elegance.
At 20:00 p.m., Catalan designer Fiona Ferrer, an international figure who fuses creativity, business, and lifestyle, presented her collection. The designer leads her brand FFL with collaborations such as the global PEANUTS license, combining her experience in fashion, television, and literature. She presented a collection that unites her multicultural heritage with local art: from the FFL x PEANUTS line to creations with Teixits Riera from Mallorca, complemented by artisanal handbags from Colombia and leather goods from Elche. A sophisticated proposal that celebrates the dialogue between tradition and globalization.
To close out the final day, at 21:00 p.m., Maldito Sweet, the Gran Canaria-based brand with a textile heritage that transforms each bikini into a statement of authenticity, presented its collection. Its founder, after training in Milan and London, founded the brand at the age of 21, fusing rebellion and sweetness in designs that celebrate the real body. The brand presented "Maldito Cuento de Hadas," a collection that reinvents fantasy with metallic underwire pieces and striking colors, made for freedom, self-acceptance, and the power to write your own rules.
A final day that, with high local participation, made it clear that the Canary Islands are a hotbed of creativity, quality, and innovation with international and future-oriented projection.
