Strategic social investment in Arguineguín: Pérez Moreno launches the works of the new cultural hub

The Mogán Town Council, in the southern tourist region of Gran Canaria, has launched a crucial investment in human capital and social infrastructure by awarding the construction contract for the Arguineguín Center for Studies and Art (CEAA) to the Pérez Moreno construction company. This project, valued at €3,2 million and with a 20-month timeframe, will be built on Damasco Street with the aim of diversifying the municipality's offerings beyond tourism, investing in education and culture for the local population.

The building, which will have 1.816,30 m² distributed over two floors, will be a dual-purpose facility. The ground floor will house the School of Arts, a key space for fostering local talent with specialized studios for dance, theater, and music. This approach aims to offer professional and personal development opportunities to young people in the area, who are often limited by the dominance of the service sector.

The upper floor will house the Central Library, an essential service that will include a newspaper archive, a computer area, and, strategically, a 24-hour study room. This decision directly addresses the needs of Mogán's working and student population, where the tourism sector's long hours require flexibility for training and study. Furthermore, the project strictly adheres to the Technical Building Code regarding energy efficiency, accessibility, and safety, in line with the public investment standards promoted by the European Union.

For Pérez Moreno, the awarding of the contract in Arguineguín represents not only a significant project in economic terms, but also a contribution to the social and cultural development of a region that has traditionally prioritized hotel construction. The expansion of Mogán's cultural infrastructure network, with this new CEAA (Center for Artistic and Cultural Activities), is seen as a decisive step toward improving the quality of life and opportunities for its residents.
