Southern Gran Canaria is preparing for a year of significant public investment in 2026, with a package of projects and initiatives exceeding €21 million, aimed at improving energy efficiency, mobility, and public services in key municipalities such as San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Mogán. Among the most noteworthy projects is the adaptation and modernization of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana courthouse, with an investment of €590.335, focused on updating the facilities and enhancing their operational capacity. Simultaneously, the courthouse will undergo a comprehensive energy efficiency plan valued at €1,33 million, which will reduce operating costs and emissions, in line with the public administration's sustainability goals.

In the area of mobility, the GC-1 will receive €5,4 million in funding, focused on critical infrastructure and road safety improvements. Likewise, the GC-200 bypass in the town of Mogán will receive €91.428 for studies and technical work, while the Mogán tunnel on the GC-500 (km 44+000) will have a budget of €3,25 million, strengthening connectivity between municipalities in the south and enhancing safety on strategic sections.

The Mogán Town Council will also benefit from €2,45 million in subsidies earmarked for social and environmental projects, including the modernization of the municipal wastewater treatment plant (€2 million) and the creation of a Senior Citizens' Day Center (€450.000). The modernization of Mogán beach completes this package with €334.000, improving accessibility and services for residents and tourists. This set of investments reflects a coordinated effort between local and regional governments, with a clear focus on sustainable infrastructure, mobility, and quality public services, consolidating southern Gran Canaria as a strategic territory for the archipelago's economic and tourism development.
