A 58-year-old man was rescued on Saturday by the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) helicopter after falling on a rocky area of ​​the Montaña Arena coast, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. He was later taken to the San Roque Maspalomas University Hospital.

 

The incident occurred at 17:43 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, on Montaña Arena beach, when the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 received an alert about a man falling into a rocky area of ​​the coast, requiring urgent medical assistance.

 

The GES rescue helicopter intervened at the scene, with the collaboration of firefighters from the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire and Rescue Service and the Local Police, to evacuate the injured person to the Maspalomas-El Berriel Aerodrome. Once on the ground, personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) attended to the injured person, who presented with several moderate contusions, and transferred by basic life support ambulance to the San Roque Maspalomas University Hospitals.

 

The operation involved the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) with its rescue helicopter, the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) with a basic life support ambulance, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire and Rescue Service, and the Local Police, who collaborated at all times with the rescue and evacuation efforts.
