La Civil Guard of Puerto Rico-Mogán, within the framework of the Strategic Plan for Secure Commerce, has managed to arrest a person linked to five crimes of theft committed in different local businesses. During the last few weeks, several establishments belonging to a retail chain located in shopping centers in Mogán y Santa Lucia de Tirajana They had been the victims of repeated thefts. Thanks to a meticulous analysis of CCTV footage, as well as the provision of still images and previous reports filed by an affected company, investigators were able to identify the suspected perpetrator. Witness statements proved crucial to advancing the investigation, confirming that the detainee had a history of similar offenses, thus demonstrating his recidivism in this type of crime.

 

The thefts perpetrated between August 25 and October 2025 had a significant impact on the affected company, which filed complaints both in person and through the platform ON-RED (National Office for Electronic Collection of Complaints)Among the stolen items are luxury goods of high economic value, such as sunglasses from well-known brands (Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Saint Laurent), exclusive perfumes and various pieces of expensive costume jewelry. The total estimated value of the stolen items amounts to approximately 3.000 euros. The police report was submitted to the Duty Court at the Courts of San Bartolomé, highlighting the seriousness and socio-economic impact of property crimes when there is recidivism.
