Southern Gran Canaria will face a week marked by unusually high temperatures for November and persistent haze, according to the AEMET forecast.
This week, southern Gran Canaria will experience changeable weather, starting sunny and hot and ending cooler with variable cloudiness.
From Sunday, November 9th to Sunday, November 16th, 2025, the Spanish State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) forecasts for the south of Gran Canaria—especially the leeward and southeast areas (municipalities such as Mogán, San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Agüimes, and Ingenio)—indicates unusually high temperatures for this time of year. Maximum temperatures are expected to reach 30°C on the coast and 31-32°C inland, with minimum temperatures ranging between 20 and 22°C. Additionally, Saharan dust intrusions are expected, accompanied by moderate easterly and southeasterly winds, with gusts that will increase the perceived temperature.
Throughout this week, the weather will remain stable, with mostly clear or sunny skies along the southern coast, allowing for greater solar radiation. These conditions will reinforce the feeling of a "late summer" in these areas, especially during the middle of the day. AEMET (the Spanish State Meteorological Agency) recommends staying hydrated, using sun protection, and avoiding strenuous activity in the sun during peak temperatures.
The persistent southeasterly winds and haze could last for several days, creating a slightly hazy and warmer-than-usual atmosphere. Inland in the south, temperatures could exceed 31°C, while the coast will enjoy days of clear skies and calm seas, save for the occasional gust.
In the northern part of Gran Canaria, conditions will be somewhat milder, with cloudy intervals, moderate northwest winds and maximum temperatures between 24 and 26 °C, with minimum temperatures around 18-20 °C.
The haze could also reach the north in a slight and occasional way, although the atmosphere will remain milder and with more clouds, especially in the early hours of the day.
