The Gran Canaria-based company Viajes Insular has been recognized as one of the 500 fastest-growing Spanish companies by the CEPYME500 2025 program, an indicator that is consolidating itself as a benchmark of strength and projection within the fabric of small and medium-sized Spanish companies.
The award, presented this Tuesday at the Madrid Stock Exchange by the president of CEPYME, Ángela de Miguel, was accepted by the general manager of Viajes Insular, Ignacio Poladura, who highlighted that the recognition "demonstrates that the expansion and innovation strategy undertaken by the company is fulfilling its objectives."
The distinction comes at a key moment for Spanish SMEs, which represent 99,8% of the business fabric and generate more than 65% of private employment in Spain, but which still face challenges in digitalization, green financing and international expansion, in line with the EU's competitiveness objectives.
Founded over six decades ago, Viajes Insular is one of the most established tourism companies in the Canary Islands. Its inclusion in the CEPYME500 ranking places it alongside a select group of companies recognized for their sustained growth, economic resilience, and social impact.
The CEPYME500 project, promoted by the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, has been identifying since 2017 the firms with the greatest potential for expansion and contribution to the national economy, and aims to highlight the competitiveness of Spanish SMEs within the framework of European economic recovery.
With this recognition, Viajes Insular reinforces its position as a benchmark for the Canary Islands tourism sector in the national context, and demonstrates that regional SMEs can compete in standards of innovation and growth comparable to those of central and northern Europe.
