From the PEMU management, Fire and Rescue Service (SEIS) officer José Felipe Santana Rodríguez states that “the incidents have not been numerous or severe. We have not had to assist any residents and the damage recorded is not substantial.”

“Firefighters, the Municipal Police, the Red Cross, Civil Protection, the Department of Municipal Services (Roads and Works), and the Canaragua company (sewerage) have been on standby and vigilant since the alert was declared, and will remain operational for the duration of the alert,” stated José Carlos Álamo, the Councilor for Security and Emergencies, who emphasized the ongoing collaboration of the National Police in Maspalomas. The strong gusty winds of the afternoon and evening, and the rainfall, with an accumulation of approximately 80 liters per square meter in the midlands and an average of 23 to 25 liters in the tourist area of Maspalomas, did not cause as many incidents in the upper part of the municipality as in the coastal area, where the PEMU operation had to act mainly in the very early hours of the morning.

The most significant incidents included the collapse of a wall that damaged three parked vehicles near the Atlantic Beach Hotel; the fall of a tree and a palm tree on Avenida de Gáldar and Avenida de Tirajana, respectively; two traffic accidents, without injuries, at the San Fernando Municipal Swimming Pool roundabout and at kilometer 43,700 of the GC-1 highway; minor damage to a house facade in El Tablero; a blockage in the sewer line near the Los Molinos Apartments; landslides and rockfalls affecting the La Montaña, Taidía, and Artedara roads; power outages affecting streetlights on the tourist avenues of Tirajana, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Italia, and Francia; and several minor floods in the areas of the old Canódromo, the tunnel opposite El Veril Playa (where assistance was provided to a woman), and in two private homes in the Patronato and on Avenida de Alemania. The rain also forced drivers to proceed with caution on several streets in the tourist area.

Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez also established a social reception center in the Municipal Pavilion of El Tablero due to the alert situation caused by Storm Claudia, where 4 people and three animals were finally offered shelter and accommodation on Wednesday night.

The municipality's preschools, the Day Care Center, the El Tablero Occupational Center for People with Disabilities, the Alzheimer's Day Center, parks, recreational facilities and outdoor areas, municipal sports facilities, the Municipal School of Music, libraries, and study rooms have been closed and are not offering any activities since midnight on Thursday until the end of the alert is declared. The red flag remains in place on the beaches due to adverse coastal conditions.
