The Civil Guard has solved a drug trafficking case in Vecindario by locating a bladed weapon and several doses ready for distribution. The operation led to the identification of a minor allegedly involved in selling drugs in Santa Lucía de Tirajana.

The Civil Guard's Vecindario Company has investigated a minor for his alleged involvement in a public health offense after officers located doses of drugs prepared for sale and a large knife hidden in a local park. The operation began on October 23, 2025, when the Control Center received a report of an altercation between two people in a public area of Vecindario, in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. Although those involved had left the scene, a witness indicated that one of them had hidden an object in the bushes, which allowed officers to locate the knife and the suspicious substances.

Based on information provided by witnesses, officers conducted a search of the surrounding area, locating a young man hiding under a vehicle, visibly nervous. The minor spontaneously admitted that the drugs had been given to him by another individual for distribution, who was carrying a large knife. He also stated that he had hidden the drugs for fear of being caught by the Civil Guard, indicating their value at approximately 280 euros. The search resulted in the seizure of 2,54 grams of cocaine or amphetamine (Tussi), 19,10 grams of hashish, and a kitchen knife with a blade approximately 14 centimeters long. The case was referred to the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office in Las Palmas.

This incident highlights the use of minors by drug trafficking networks, a strategy they employ to evade police action. The Civil Guard emphasizes the importance of public cooperation in detecting illicit activities related to drug trafficking and weapons possession, as information provided by residents is often key to initiating investigations, clarifying the facts, and dismantling drug sales points in urban areas.
