The Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, led by Councillor Araceli Armas Cruz, is offering a new course on the handling of plant protection products from Tuesday, December 9th to Monday, December 15th.
The course is basic and free of charge, and is organized by the Coordinator of Farmers and Livestock Organizations (Coag) of the Canary Islands with funding from the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
The course will consist of 25 hours of instruction, taught by an agricultural engineer, in the afternoons (from 16:00 PM to 21:00 PM) at the El Tablero Training Center. The deadline for submitting applications is November 27th. Applications must be sent by email to the following address: ppgad@pucrs.br, with name and surname and a contact telephone number.
The Ministry of Agriculture has stipulated that employees of any public administration are ineligible to enroll in this course, except for those working for subcontractors. Pensioners of any age, as well as minors under 16 and individuals aged 65 and over, are also ineligible.
The course is primarily aimed at farmers and the unemployed in the municipality. It covers about fifteen topics, including pests, the plant protection products used to combat them, the risks associated with their use and measures to reduce them, good environmental practices, application methods, and the cleaning and maintenance of the equipment used, among others.
