The new annual event, now in its seventh edition, will be from 20:00 p.m. next Tuesday the 28th, in the Auditorium of the Maspalomas Cultural Center, to benefit the Rotary Project to provide materials for a unitary school in the localities most devastated by the volcano on the island of La Palma.
The soprano from the municipality Judith Pezoa, the Lanzarote tenor Francisco Corujo and the Gran Canaria pianist Juan Francisco Parra will be in charge of delighting the audience next Tuesday, December 28, at 20:00 p.m., at the Maspalomas Cultural Center with their already traditional New Year's Eve Lyric Gala - End of the Year Solidarity Lyric Gala.
Tickets are charitable at a price of 10 euros, the proceeds of which will go to the Rotary Project to provide educational materials for a unitary school in the towns most devastated by the volcano on the island of La Palma.
After the successes achieved in previous editions, this show was presented this morning to the media, in a press conference that took place in the outdoor patio of the Maspalomas Cultural Center.
The acting mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Samuel Henríquez Quintana, thanked the artists for their presence and the collaboration they have been providing alongside institutions such as the Rotary Club Maspalomas which, together with the City Council, have set two major objectives: to unify culture and entertainment with solidarity.
This is the seventh New Year's Eve Solidarity Lyric Gala in Maspalomas, as explained by soprano Judith Pezoa, who was pleased to collaborate, being supportive from the point of view of culture. Likewise, she took the opportunity to thank the Department of Culture for the development of this solidarity activity, while she positively valued the participation of the great participating Canarian artists.
Judith wanted to warmly thank all those people who, from a very early date, have sold out the tickets on sale for their interest and support of safe culture, even more so since it is a solidarity event.
For his part, the vice president of the Rotary Club Maspalomas, Antonio Manzano, joined in the thanks, directed especially to the City Council and the artists, who every year offer their talent for a charitable cause.
The concert will have two parts; one of opera, based mainly on German and Italian arias, and a second with Spanish songs, where there will be no shortage of zarzuelas and songs known to the public. Without a doubt, a great opportunity to be culturally supportive by enjoying this great Solidarity Lyric Gala that will take place this Tuesday in Maspalomas.
CHARITABLE CAUSE
The amount raised in this edition of the End of the Year Solidarity Lyric Gala will be allocated entirely to the Rotary Project to provide educational materials to a unitary school that will meet the main training needs in the towns most devastated by the volcano on the island of La Palma. .
The Rotary Club Maspalomas will act as institutional representative of this project. The cost of general charity tickets will be €10.

Judith Pezoa, soprano

A native of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, he graduated with the highest qualification in Singing and Piano at the Superior Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands, obtaining the End of Degree Award in the specialty of Singing. She achieves Distinction of Honor in Singing from the International Academy of Music in Nice and is distinguished as a student at the Rossiniana Academy in Pesaro.
Always in constant training, he has perfected his technique under the guidance of Luciana Serra, Francisco Kraus, Mariella Devia, Alberto Zedda and María Orán. She has been awarded in the International Singing Competitions of Torino, Logroño, Colmenar Viejo, Ópera de Tenerife and Cajacanarias.
His artistic career extends through numerous theaters and auditoriums such as the Pérez Galdós, Reina Victoria, Alfredo Kraus, Adán Martín, La Maestranza, Niza, Padova, Udine, Monza, Milano, Busto Arsizio, Varese and Pesaro, where he plays the main roles of operas and zarzuelas such as Rigoletto, Die Zauberflöte, Cosi fan Tutte, L'elisir d'amore, La Traviata, Lucia di Lammermoor, Sonnambula, La Fille du Regiment, Bohéme, Doña Francisquita, El Barbero de Sevilla, Marina, Carmina Burana, etc
Complementing her artistic career, she has always been very involved in the world of teaching, research and dissemination of Singing. She has a Diploma of Advanced Studies in the area of Didactics of Musical Expression from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and a Master's Degree in Artistic Teaching in Interpretation and Performative Research of Spanish Music from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid.
In addition to her proven experience for more than ten years as a teacher of vocal technique and head of Singing at the Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands, she is joined by her constant collaborations in Masterclasses and Singing symposia at the national level, highlighting her participation as a teacher at the Maspalomas Summer University.
She currently combines her artistic activity with her teaching work as a specialist teacher of vocal technique at the Higher School of Singing in Madrid.
Francisco Corujo, tenor
Francisco Corujo is undoubtedly the most outstanding representative that Lanzarote has given to the lyrical genre during the 21st century.
This young tenor, who defines himself as a musician, has already accumulated more than 15 years of career that has led him to perform under the orders of some of the best living opera directors, such as Plácido Domingo, Jesús López Cobos, Phillipe Entremont , Josep Pons, Giancarlo Del Monaco, Emilio Sagi, Liu Jä, or Nicola Luisotti.
He has performed in numerous theaters and auditoriums around the world, performing mainly opera and zarzuela, but also oratorio and symphonic. Among his repertoire of operas, "La Traviata", "Rigoletto", "Macbeth" and "Romeo u Juliet" stand out. In the oratorio or symphonic, Mozart's "Requiem", Puccini's "Mass of Glory", or Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony". Among the singing competitions that she has won in recent years, Francisco Viñas and Iris Adami Corradetti are notable.
Juan Francisco Parra, piano
He began his musical studies at the GC Las Palmas Superior Conservatory of Music, with teachers Susa Mari Suárez Verona and Francisco Martínez Ramos. Upon finishing the professional degree, she completes her training at the Bern Conservatory of Music and Theater, in Switzerland, under the guidance of Professor Michael Studer. Likewise, she attended Chamber Music and Lied Accompaniment classes with teachers Heinrich Forster, Kurt Weber and Tomasz Herburt.
In 1992 he finished his higher studies in Switzerland. Later she entered the “Pedro Espinosa” piano competition, obtaining first prize. In this same year he goes on a concert tour playing in Germany, Austria, Hungary and Italy. In 1998 he was called by the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium to inaugurate the Chamber Room. In that same Auditorium he participates as a pianist in the “Alfredo Kraus” and “Gran Canaria” singing competitions.
He has collaborated with the Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra in different concerts and in 2000 he participated in the tour that took place in Germany, Switzerland and Austria playing in the most important auditoriums in Europe. Among the directors with whom he has worked we can highlight Sir Simon Rattle, Evelino Pidó, Miguel Ángel Gómez Martínez, Miquel Ortega, Marco Armiliato, Paolo Arrivabene, Daniele Callegari, etc. He has participated as a repertoire pianist in different courses, such as those conducted by Mirella Freni, Cristina Gallardo-Domâs, Suso Mariátegui, Tom Krause and María Orán.
He has two recorded albums (CD 771 and 772) of chamber music with the North American label “Crystal Records” with the clarinetist Radovan Cavallin, the horn player José Zarzo, Carlos Rivero on the cello and the violinist Víctor Parra. He also has recordings for the Rals and Summit Records labels.
He has accompanied various recitals in such important venues as Wigmore Hall in London, Opera City Hall in Tokyo, Yokosuka Arts Theater, Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, Príncipe Felipe Auditorium in Oviedo, Philharmonic Theater in Oviedo, Rosalía Theater in La Coruña, Teatro Gayarre in Pamplona, Pushkin Museum in Moscow, Pérez Galdós Theater in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas, among others.
Among the singers with whom he has collaborated we can highlight Leo Nucci, Celso Albelo, Yolanda Auyanet, Jorge de León, Desirée Rancatore, Pancho Corujo, Roberto de Candia, Simón Orfila, Mariola Cantarero, Nancy Fabiola Herrera, among others.
