A four-year-old girl was rescued from a swimming pool in the municipality of Mogán after suffering cardiac arrest and was airlifted by helicopter by the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) after being stabilized. The swift action of the rescue personnel and emergency services proved crucial to her initial care.

A four-year-old girl was seriously injured on December 1, 2025, at 1:15 p.m., after suffering a near-drowning in a swimming pool in Taurito, in the municipality of Mogán. The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 1-13-2 immediately activated resources after receiving an alert that the girl had been rescued from the water in cardiac arrest, prompting the urgent intervention of specialized services.

The resort's lifeguard team began resuscitation efforts until the arrival of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), whose personnel continued advanced techniques and managed to stabilize the child. She showed signs of severe drowning and a serious head injury, so she was airlifted by SUC medical helicopter to the helipad at Doctor Negrín University Hospital, from where she was transferred by ambulance to the University Maternal and Child Hospital of the Canary Islands for specialized care.

The Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium, the Civil Guard, the Local Police, and Civil Protection also participated in the operation, securing the area for the helicopter landing and collaborating to ensure a safe transfer. The security forces also carried out the corresponding investigations at the scene.
