The rapid coordination between the Operational Units proved vital for the immediate identification and location of the assailant
The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the officers after being located at her home by the Civil Guard.
The Civil Guard in Vecindario has successfully concluded an operation that culminated in the arrest of a 28-year-old woman, allegedly responsible for an assault with a bladed weapon. This police intervention stemmed from a serious incident in La Aldea de San Nicolás (Las Palmas) that required a swift and precise response from the officers.
The incident occurred around 19:00 p.m. on November 24, 2025, when officers from the Vecindario Main Station, on patrol, received an alert from the COS (Central Operations Center) regarding a two-tone utility vehicle that had fled the scene after allegedly being involved in a knife attack in La Aldea de San Nicolás. The victim had suffered multiple stab wounds to the head and buttocks, resulting in serious injuries.
The operation's effectiveness lay in the swift identification and location of the vehicle and its owner by the Prevention Unit officers. Following the alert, the owner's address was established on a street in Vecindario, allowing for a thorough search of the surrounding area until reaching her residence. There, the woman appeared and confirmed ownership of the vehicle, which was parked in her garage.
The detainee stated her intention to surrender voluntarily to the Civil Guard, claiming she had previously received a call related to the incident. In an apparent state of remorse, she recounted that she went to the location to resolve a personal conflict stemming from threats she had received. According to her version of events, during an argument and under the pretext of self-defense, she grabbed a knife from the victim and stabbed her, confessing to having uttered the phrase, "If I die, she'll die too."
The coordination between the various units of the Civil Guard was crucial to the success of the operation. Officers from the Vecindario Main Station, the COS central command, and the Santa María de Guía Territorial Judicial Police Team worked together to ensure the arrest of the assailant that same night. The woman was subsequently transferred to the police station in Vecindario, and the case file was sent to the Court of Instruction Number 2 in San Bartolomé de Tirajana for processing.
