The departments of Public Lighting and Commerce, led by councilor Araceli Armas Cruz and coordinated by councilor Eduardo Armas Herrera, once again chose this location "as a strategic, central and key point in boosting commerce."

This Christmas 2025, the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council is using some 1.209 hanging elements of low-consumption LED lamps in the public decoration to add color to more than 28 kilometers of streets, roundabouts and medians of the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

To liven up the lighting ceremony, the Lighting and Commerce departments organized and developed, starting two hours beforehand and with the collaboration of Acomisaba, a fun and festive program co-financed by the Vice Presidency and Department of Public Works and Infrastructure, Architecture and Housing of the Gran Canaria Island Council.

The scheduled activities, designed to entertain children and encourage active family participation, included various craft workshops, a parade, a Christmas house, and bouncy castles. A Christmas photo booth was also set up, which families, couples, and friends used to capture memories of the day.

The event, which ended around 22:30 p.m., also featured a musical concert starring Los Salvapantallas and the Spanish-Venezuelan group Tabaiba.

In addition to this event, the City Council will hold the inaugural lighting ceremony for the Christmas Park this Sunday, December 7th, at 7:00 p.m. in the grounds of the South Urban Park. There, the program of events for children and families, "Christmas Around the World," will take place. The Department of Culture, headed by Deputy Mayor Elena Álamo Vega, is focusing this second edition on Christmas celebrations in Africa, Lapland, China, the Netherlands, Cuba, and India.
