The victim, a 17-year-old girl, suffered threats, insults, and anonymous calls for months.
The harassment began after her phone number was published and false accusations were made on social media.
One person has been arrested and two others are under investigation for crimes of threats, coercion and stalking.
The National Police, through the Technological Crimes Group of the Telde Local Police Station, has completed an investigation that has made it possible to clarify a serious case of continuous cyber harassment (stalking), threats and coercion suffered by a 17-year-old minor from the municipality.
The events began in April of this year when several people shared the young woman's private phone number on social media, along with false accusations intended to incite others to contact her. From that moment on, the victim began receiving anonymous calls, messages, and audio recordings containing death threats, insults, and hate speech—a situation that continued for several months.
During the investigation, the agents identified the alleged authors of the messages and publications, who acted from social media profiles and associated telephone lines.
Among the actions detected are the dissemination of the minor's private number (doxing), repeated violent messages, calls from hidden numbers, attempts to find out her address and even expressions of hatred directed at people close to the complainant.
The agents determined that these behaviors constituted crimes of threats and coercion covered in the Penal Code, as well as cyber harassment or stalking, given the persistence and repetition of the harassment, which seriously affected the peace and security of the victim.
As a result of the police investigation, one of the suspects was arrested, while two other individuals involved were brought to the attention of the competent authorities as they were outside the police jurisdiction.
The National Police remind the public of the importance of not sharing personal data of others, reporting any form of online harassment, and promoting responsible use of online platforms, especially among teenagers. Such behavior can lead to serious legal consequences.
