The evolution of the tourism sector in southern Gran Canaria underscores the direct correlation between a high-performance pricing strategy and the stability of the island's labor market. The focus on profitability not only ensures the sector's financial viability but also drives job creation. Tourism employment in Gran Canaria has reached 54.852 people, representing a 2% increase compared to the previous figure of 53.871. This figure consolidates the island's position as the second largest driver of tourism employment in the Canary Islands.

In terms of infrastructure utilization, Gran Canaria maintains high demand, essential for employment levels. The room occupancy rate is 73% and the bed occupancy rate is 64%, with a 1% increase in both indicators. This high occupancy level, combined with premium rates, guarantees the revenue stream necessary to maintain 54.852 jobs. Gran Canaria's tourism management, therefore, demonstrates a balanced model where maximizing prices and controlling yield management translate directly into robust job creation in the South.

The capacity to absorb additional staff is justified by the high performance of the accommodation units. RevPAR (revenue per available room) stands at €60 (a 5% increase), and the average daily rate (ADR) reaches €70 (a 3% increase), generating the necessary margins to maintain and expand the workforce.
