Storm Emilia has caused an adverse weather event in Gran Canaria, with heavy rain, strong gusts of wind, rough seas and snowfall in the mountains
Storm Emilia has generated numerous incidents, especially due to fallen trees caused by strong gusts of wind, as well as intense waves. It is therefore recommended to stay away from seafront promenades and coastal areas where a rise in sea level may occur.

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET Canarias) maintains warnings for strong winds, locally heavy rainfall, adverse coastal conditions, and snow in higher elevations. The rains have activated ravines and caused an increase in the flow of water in dams and reservoirs, which are being continuously monitored by the technical services of the Gran Canaria Island Council.
The Gran Canaria Island Council has preemptively closed several roads on the island's road network due to the risk of landslides, water accumulation, snow, and strong winds. The affected roads are located primarily in mid-altitude and summit areas, including access roads to natural areas and viewpoints, and will remain closed until safety can be guaranteed.

The Canary Islands Government is urging extreme caution, urging people to avoid unnecessary travel, stay away from ravines and forest tracks, and respect official closures and recommendations. In the south and southeast of the island, wind, rain, and rough seas have caused isolated incidents, so it is recommended to follow the storm's progress through official channels while alerts remain in effect.
