La Association of Private Clinics of Gran Canaria has signed, this past Friday, December 12, the new collective agreement for the private healthcare sectorThe agreement was reached in an environment of constructive dialogue and collaboration with the trade unions. It reinforces the sector's commitment to job stability and improving the working conditions of both healthcare and non-healthcare staff at private clinics on the island.
The agreement includes a a 14% salary increase distributed over the next three years, with retroactive effects from April 1, 2025. In addition, a additional personal day, as a demonstration of the commitment to the well-being and work-life balance of the staff.
The Association highlights the importance of this agreement as a positive step for all professional categorieswith special attention to those with more sensitive conditions, contributing to a stronger, fairer and more equitable private healthcare system.
For its part, the General Secretariat CCOO of the Association of Private Clinics and Socio-Health Sectors has pointed out:
“The signing of this agreement prevents a further loss of purchasing power for staff and represents progress, albeit modest, in improving working conditions in the sector. Although this was not our initial proposal, we consider it responsible to reach an agreement that guarantees stability, includes new professional categories, and allows us to continue making progress through the joint monitoring committee. We are committed to continuing to work so that the next agreement includes broader and more necessary demands for private healthcare workers in Las Palmas.”
This agreement reaffirms the shared commitment of companies and workers to the progress of the private healthcare sector in Gran Canariabetting on dialogue as a way to continue improving both the quality of employment and patient care.
