MASPALOMAS24H Friday, December 19, 2025

The international contemporary urban dance competition will be held again with the support of the Department of Culture of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council and with more than 500 registered participants.

Lovers of dance and contemporary urban and digital arts will meet in Maspalomas next Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 December for the second edition of La Urbana Fest Canarias, a performing arts event in the form of an international modern dance competition for all disciplines and ages.

This emerging artistic event, supported by the Department of Culture led by Deputy Mayor Elena Álamo Vega and coordinated by Councillor Esther Delgado Sánchez, is part of the wide and varied program of children's and youth activities programmed by the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council under the festive umbrella of World Christmas, which begins this Saturday the 20th from 17:00 pm and with a very family-friendly atmosphere in the South Urban Park.

With over 500 registered participants, La Urbana Fest 2025 will once again take place, as in 2024, at the El Tablero Municipal Pavilion and the World Tourism Organization Auditorium in Parque Urbano del Sur. On Saturday the 27th, the first venue will host workshops and masterclasses in hip hop, breaking, rock-dance, popping, locking, and commercial dance, as well as pre-selection battles or qualifiers for the individual and group choreography competitions in all styles, which will be held the following day, Sunday the 28th, at the Parque Urbano Auditorium.
