The fair, promoted and financed by the Gran Canaria Island Council and organized by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, celebrates its 25th anniversary with a wide program of activities, workshops, attractions and shows for the whole family
Antonio Morales states that the event “has become a classic of the island's Christmas season, a space for conviviality and encounters” and recalls that, in 2024, nearly 35.000 people visited the fair
The event, which will be open until January 4, features a new outdoor area for playing football, in cooperation with the UD Las Palmas school.
Planeta Gran Canaria opened its doors today at Infecar, the Gran Canaria Trade Fair, for one of its most special editions. The most iconic children's and family Christmas fair celebrates its 25th anniversary, inviting families from the island to share quality time, fun, and learning in a space designed for children and educational leisure.
“Planeta Gran Canaria has become a classic of the island's Christmas season, a space for togetherness, for meeting; there are few families in Gran Canaria who, at some point in these 25 years, have not come here with their children during this holiday and Christmas season,” said the president of the Gran Canaria Island Council, Antonio Morales, who recalled that nearly 35.000 people visited this fair in the last edition.
From today until January 4th, the venue will be transformed into a veritable universe of experiences, with activities spread across different themed areas transformed into planets, combining outdoor attractions, creative workshops, family shows, and digital offerings. This program is designed so that families on the island can enjoy many magical moments together.
Among the main activities of this anniversary edition are the large outdoor spaces of Planet Challenge, the shows of Planet Light and Color and the extensive educational program of Planet Fun, not forgetting the activities of Planet Recreation, the fun attractions of Planet Adventure and the exciting competitions in Planet Digital.
“Planeta Gran Canaria always tries to respond to the different areas of development of the youngest children; there is an important part dedicated to psychomotor activity and sport,” explained the Councilor for Economic Development, Minerva Alonso, who announced as a new feature of this edition a collaboration with the school of Unión Deportiva Las Palmas, with an outdoor area for playing football, in addition to launching interactive games that are added to many workshops in plastic arts, lettering, painting, theater, musical performances, among others.
The fair also brings back the Supergrandma show and features YouTuber Invictor, who has written books and discusses them on his channel, "inviting young children to get hooked on reading, which is very important," the councilor stated. The content creator will spend time with children on January 3rd and 4th.
As the island president also emphasized, the fair also has food areas, so "there is a possibility of having a good time, with shows and games of different kinds, throughout the day; with the lunch break you can spend the whole time, with the boys and girls entertained playing, having fun and enjoying the last attractions and shows."
And all this without leaving any family on the island behind. Once again, Planeta Gran Canaria is inclusive, incorporating specific measures to support children with special needs.
Planeta Gran Canaria will be open until January 4th, from 10:00 to 20:30, with some exceptions such as December 31st, when it will be closed, and January 1st, when it will only be open in the afternoon, from 16:00 to 20:30.
General admission tickets can be purchased online https://planetagrancanaria.es/ Tickets can also be purchased at the venue's box office for €5 per person, or €6,50 if, in addition to enjoying the fair, you wish to attend the Invictor YouTuber show. As in previous years, Infecar offers discounts on ticket packages and free admission for certain groups, such as the unemployed, retirees, and people with disabilities, as well as children under 3.
Planeta Gran Canaria is an event promoted and financed by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and organized by Infecar, Feria de Gran Canaria, which has as sponsors the DISA Foundation, El Corte Inglés, Fred Olsen Express and Dormitorum, and with Cajasiete as an official collaborator.
