The detainee allegedly took advantage of his family relationship with the victim to commit the abuses, relying on supposed practices based on "personal energies".
The Civil Guard from the main station in Vecindario has arrested a man as the suspected perpetrator of a sexual assault against a minor. According to the investigation, the incidents allegedly occurred over several years at a private residence in the town.
The investigation began after the victim's mother filed a complaint detailing alleged sexual abuse by the suspect. The suspect apparently used his familial relationship with the minor to subject her to practices related to "human energies," which required nudity as part of the ritual. During these sessions, the suspect allegedly touched the minor inappropriately and forced her to participate in sexual acts.
Following the report, the Civil Guard immediately launched an investigation, focusing on the comprehensive protection of the minor and verifying the facts. The collection of testimonies, along with the analysis of evidence, allowed them to reconstruct a pattern of ongoing abuse based on strategies of psychological manipulation.
Thanks to this work, and after obtaining sufficient evidence, the officers arrested the alleged perpetrator on December 16. The case file has been sent to the Duty Magistrate's Court of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, where the detainee will have to answer for the charges against him.
The Civil Guard emphasizes that crimes of this nature are particularly serious, as they affect victims in vulnerable situations and, in many cases, occur within environments of trust. Furthermore, the use of psychological manipulation to justify or normalize the abuse exacerbates the harm caused, both emotionally and in terms of the victim's personal development.
