Francisco García highlighted the work carried out by the Department of Culture that has turned the municipality into a benchmark for cultural activity since the beginning of the Ateneo and especially since the pandemic was declared, since, despite the difficulties and restrictions, “ culture has not stopped and has proven to be a safe activity.”
The mayor also highlighted that the programming of the Víctor Jara theater from January to June 2022 is designed for all audiences, includes all artistic disciplines and also supports popular prices so that it can be enjoyed by all citizens.
In this semester, the citizens of Santa Lucía de Tirajana will have the opportunity to enjoy performances such as Falete, who will offer his concert Desnudando el alma; the spectacular percussion of Mayumaná, which will resonate on May 6, 7 and 8 and the experience and fun of Loles León, on May 13 and 14.
Pamela Palenciano will perform the dramatic comedy Not only the blows hurt and, for International Dance Day in the month of April, the Víctor Jara theater will host Daniel Abreu's show, El Hijo. Additionally, on the occasion of International LGTBI Pride Day, the Víctor Jara theater will host the presentation of Samantha Hudson's latest album, Total Liquidation.
Canarian production
More than 95% of the programming are Canarian productions and among them, two are from companies from Santa Lucía de Tirajana: Una noche con Chavela, by Jiribillas 3.0 and La Sagrada Familia, a circus show by Circanario. But in addition, there are titles such as The Dream and the Vigil, by Atlante Cultura & Teatro; Sexual comedy of a summer night, produced by Acelera Producciones; The passion fruit of Nauzet Afonso or Clara and the abyss of Unahoramenos productions.
In this programming, family culture will also play a relevant role with titles such as 10 years of Pica Pica, by Latitud Canarias; Thumbelina and Around the World in 80 Days, by Camino Viejo Producciones; Sing games. El clown Tallarín, from Acelera Producciones and Ondina Glups (black theater) from Kaleidoscopio Teatro.
Humor will not be lacking in this programming as it includes the performances of Kike Pérez, with the show ¡Kike!; recording of the Canarian Television program In another key, Jorge Bolaños, with Arte-Risa as you can and Omayra Cazorla.
Music will fill the theater stage with a concert by Los Coquillos celebrating their 30th anniversary. Also the renowned composer Laura Vega will bring her show Music, Words and Dance to the theater in her hometown.
