The deployment of the new 66 kV power line between Matorral and Lomo Maspalomas requires the expropriation of a massive area in southern Gran Canaria, primarily affecting the large landholdings in the region. Within the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, the Tinojai Real Estate Group and the heirs of Alejandro and Pedro Fernando Del Castillo Bravo de Laguna top the list of those whose land has been expropriated in terms of volume.
On plot 14 of polygon 11, this group faces an underground easement of 3.361 m² and a temporary occupation of 14.414 m², in addition to ceding 86 m² for junction boxes. This is not their only impact; on plot 1 of polygon 10, they have an additional 1.978 m² of easement and 8.567 m² of temporary occupation. The agribusiness sector is also ceding critical land for infrastructure.
Agrícola Bonny SL will have 1.030 m² of underground easement and 4.172 m² of temporary occupation affected on its plot 4 in polygon 10, while Juliano Bonny Gómez SL has 521 m² of easement and 1.660 m² of temporary occupation affected. Invercasti Alfa SL, for its part, contributes 193 m² of easement in an area with wind turbines and 147 m² of easement on pastureland, totaling 1.275 m² of temporary occupation between the two plots. Public administrations also feature prominently in the list of affected properties.
The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council (in co-ownership with the Tinojai Group and the Del Castillo family) has the largest public easement on the GC-105 highway, with 1.122 m² and a temporary occupation of 5.891 m². The Gran Canaria Island Council has three natural hydrographic areas affected in the Tirajana Ravine, totaling 785 m² of underground easement and 3.374 m² of temporary occupation in this municipality alone. Finally, the Canary Islands Autonomous Community has a minimal impact of 14 m² of easement and 76 m² of occupation on the GC-1 service road.
In the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana, the burden of the expropriation falls entirely on the Gran Canaria Island Council. The island institution must cede land on three plots in polygon 2 for the power line and the maintenance of the Tirajana Ravine. In total, 213 m² of underground easement, 3 m² for a telecommunications vault, and 906 m² of temporary occupation are established. These figures complete a map of technical requirements that Red Eléctrica considers essential for the 'Urgent Occupation' to ensure the electrical stability of the south.
