The accident occurred in the early hours of the morning on the southbound lane, before the Juan Grande area, and required the intervention of numerous emergency resources.
A traffic accident recorded at 03:50 hours on Sunday, January 25, 2026, on the GC-1 southbound, before Juan Grande, within the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, resulted in the death of a woman of about 35 years and three women with minor injuries, after a head-on collision between two vehicles and the subsequent rollover.
The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) treated the injured at the scene of the accident. One of the occupants, a 41-year-old woman with minor injuries to her lower limbs, was transported by basic life support ambulance to the Doctor Negrín University Hospital of Gran Canaria. Two other women, both 20 years old, with minor injuries, were taken by ambulance and basic life support ambulance to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
A medical ambulance, a basic life support ambulance, and two ambulances from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) were dispatched to the scene, along with firefighters from the San Bartolomé de Tirajana Fire and Rescue Service, the Civil Guard, Civil Protection personnel, and road maintenance crews. Firefighters extinguished the fire that broke out in one of the vehicles after the collision, secured the area, and assisted the other emergency services, while the Civil Guard conducted the corresponding investigation and road maintenance personnel cleaned the roadway.
