The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council is launching a series of informative talks for the public aimed at dismantling the stigma associated with potentially dangerous dogs (PPP), promoting responsible pet ownership, and reinforcing respect for animals. The sessions will take place from February 2nd to 4th at various cultural centers throughout the municipality.
The municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana will host the "Potentially Perfect Dog" information sessions next week, an initiative aimed at providing rigorous information about potentially dangerous dogs, addressing the main myths surrounding these breeds and raising awareness about the importance of education, proper handling and socialization as pillars of safe coexistence.
The talks will be given by professionals in the veterinary field, who will provide a technical and practical view on canine behavior, animal welfare and guardian responsibility.
On Monday, February 2nd, at 18:00 PM, the first session will take place at the Maspalomas Cultural Center, led by Carla Méndez Aimone of the Vista Cumbre Veterinary Center. That same day, at 19:30 PM, the Carmelo Pérez Cultural Center in El Tablero will host a talk given by Aridia Vega Santana of the Arivet Veterinary Clinic.
On Tuesday, February 3, at 18:30 p.m., Aridia Vega Santana will perform again at the Pancho Guerra Cultural Center in Tunte.
The cycle will conclude on Wednesday, February 4, at 18:30 p.m., at the Castillo del Romeral Cultural Center, with a presentation by veterinarian Enrique Parejo, from the La Casa de Stich Veterinary Center.
The Department of Health, Public Health and Animal Welfare emphasizes that these events are part of a municipal strategy to promote animal welfare, encourage responsible adoption and strengthen a culture of respect for animals, especially those that have historically been the object of prejudice.
All sessions are free admission until capacity is reached, and those interested can obtain more information by phone. 928 723 400, extension 1921.
