The organization highlights the strength of a race established among the most important in the world of trail running, its commitment to the natural environment and its coordination with institutions to offer a quality sporting experience on the trails of Gran Canaria
The North Face Transgrancanaria The Gran Canaria Trail Running event continues to solidify its position as one of the major international trail running competitions thanks to an organization that combines sporting excellence, environmental responsibility, and close collaboration with public authorities. The race, which has the support of the Gran Canaria Island Council, maintains its commitment to sport as a driver of health, social cohesion, and international exposure for the island, as well as to an event model that generates a positive impact on the region, attracts thousands of participants from dozens of countries, and positions Gran Canaria as a leading destination for sports throughout the year.
The organizers, in coordination with the Gran Canaria Island Council's Environmental Service, have designed a new route through the Pilancones Natural Park for the Classic, Advanced, and Marathon races, which will take place between March 6th and 8th. This change is due to landslides in the La Manzanilla area caused by the heavy rains of recent weeks. The new route begins at Cruz Grande, from where runners will venture along the Pilancones trails to the Los Bailaderos area, before rejoining the original route once past the affected area. This modification involves slight variations in distances: the Classic will be 125 kilometers, the Advanced 80 kilometers, and the Marathon 46 kilometers. The aid station planned for Tunte has been moved to a new location, which will be announced soon. No external assistance will be permitted at Tunte, with the exception of the Classic and Advanced races, where external aid will be allowed in Ayagaures.
