A 64-year-old woman had to be evacuated on Saturday by a helicopter from the Emergency and Rescue Group after suffering a fall on a path located in an area near the GC-60 road, in the town of Arteara, within the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

According to information provided by the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112, the alert was received at 2:20 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, after a woman was reported to have fallen on a trail and requiring both rescue and medical assistance. In response, the necessary resources were immediately activated to ensure a safe evacuation.

The Emergency and Rescue Group helicopter located the injured woman and carried out the rescue, subsequently transferring her to the El Berriel helipad. Once on the ground, the Canary Islands Emergency Service personnel determined that she had suffered a moderate lower extremity injury, and she was then transferred by basic life support ambulance to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria.

The operation involved members of the Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Rescue Group with a rescue helicopter, firefighters from San Bartolomé de Tirajana, personnel from the Canary Islands Emergency Service and local police officers, who collaborated in coordinating the operation and securing the area.
