A beautiful but dangerous sea creature has emerged in Playa del Inglés, ruining the plans of many tourists at the end of their August holidays. Blue dragons, which are shelled mollusks known as “the most beautiful killers in the ocean,” have been warned by lifeguards. When it feels threatened or touched, it can release stinging cells. Blue dragons, also known by their less glamorous scientific name, sea slug Glaucus atlanticus, feed on the species' toxins and process their cells to attack predators with an even stronger bite, which can cause nausea, pain and vomiting. . Although they are only about an inch long, blue dragons have enough power to send a human to the hospital with a single sting.
