SPAR Gran Canaria has renewed its sponsorship agreement with the Canary Islands Women's Basketball Club (SPAR Gran Canaria) for another year. This Wednesday, the club announced the start of the 2025/2026 season with its teams in the Endesa Women's League and Women's League 2.
With this renewal, SPAR Gran Canaria reinforces its commitment to Gran Canaria sport and women's basketball, in its ongoing promotion of exercise as a tool for social transformation and an example of equal opportunities for new generations of players.
Representing the network, its vice president, José López, emphasized "the pride it represents for SPAR Gran Canaria to continue supporting this project year after year, which for more than four decades has demonstrated its ability to train players and elevate them to the elite of international basketball."
"Our responsibility as a Canarian company is to give back to society part of what we receive, supporting initiatives that promote health, equality, and the future of our youth," he added.
SPAR Gran Canaria's sponsorship allows the Club to face the challenge of competing in two of the top national categories of women's basketball, as well as qualifying for the Queen's Cup, a historic milestone that also represents a significant financial effort due to travel and its island status.

The event, held at the Island Pavilion in La Paterna, was attended by the Councilor for Sports of the Gran Canaria Island Council, Aridany Romero, and the Vice President of the CBIC, José Santana.
